VITALIY PUSHNITSKIY
Lives and works in St. Petersburg Born Russia | 1967 Vitaliy Pushnitskiy's explorations with sculpture have led him to works that embody a rich conversation between materials and overall form. His use of strofoam to creat elaborate and detailed cityscapes creates a dialogue between the idea of a cheap, nearly disposable and that of creating a work of art on a large scale, one might say monumental. An interesting element of works such as 'New Babylon' is the level of craftsman ship and detail that are performed upon a material one might classify as being 'temporary'. |
